Can branding be used as a means to reduce vaccine conspiracy?
To provoke de-radicalization through empathetic communication and positive experiences.
To create my final brand I chose to utilize speculative design. The purpose of speculative design is “to give designers and social scientists tools to reframe reality, to question our current system and come up with different alternatives that are preferable.”
-Theo Ploeg (2019)
A system where cartridges are used to upgrade any drink into a carbonated vaccine. This concept will enable the integration of vaccines into celebrations and events. It would also enable a subscription service where vaccines are delivered on a specific schedule that will simplify vaccine management and encourage regular gathering and celebration.
Vaccination is one of the only medical procedures we do to protect others, it's a caring and honorable act. However the experience of vaccination can be cold and intimidating.
Clink aims to reinvent vaccination, as an experience made for people not viruses.
We want to trade jabs and anxiety for toasts and celebrations. We provide easy to understand information to help you decide what works best for you. And our subscription service takes the hassle out of managing vaccine schedules. Giving people more time to focus on what's important - enjoying life and taking care of each other.
Clink is the name I chose for the brand, this is in reference to the sound of glasses meeting in a toast. I chose to go with lower case lettering for the logo to create a friendly aesthetic, with soft rounded corners and a strong base. The ‘I’ and ‘N’ meet to signify the clinking of glasses and the dot above is to visually represent the sound.
The dot can be changed dynamically between a selection of clinking icons as can be seen above.
These Icons can also be used as auxiliary graphics throughout the brand as well as to substitute the logo at small sizes.
